Coming Soon: A Quiet Place 2

One of my favorite 2018 movies was "A Quiet Place." While I though the preview for "A Quiet Place" made the movie look great, I was still a bit apprehensive about a movie directed by Jim from "The Office," until I was able to see it for myself. Fortunately, I won't have that issue with "A Quiet Place 2," which comes to theaters this March.

In case you are one of the five people who isn't familiar with "A Quiet Place," it is a horror movie about the Abbot family who are required to stay silent in order to avoid monsters who respond to noise. "A Quiet Place 2" follows the events of the original film, with the family being forced to leave their home after a monster attack.

The opening of the preview for "A Quiet Place 2" shows the introduction of the monsters, during the events leading up to the first movie. Evelyn Abbot (Emily Blunt) is frantically driving her two kids through town, while surrounded by screaming people and crashing vehicles. We even get a fun jump scare by one of the monsters. The noise and chaos of this scene proves to be an excellent foil to the silent nature of the rest of the clip.

As the Abbots make their way through the post-apocalyptic landscape beyond their farm, they meet a mysterious stranger played by Cilian Murphy. While "A Quiet Place" focused on the dangers presented by the monsters, the sequel seems to be setting up a world where the other survivors might be the greatest threat.

"A Quiet Place 2" is in theaters the weekend of March 20-22. Make sure you don't see it in a noisy theater.
