Box Office Estimates for June 28-30

Todd Thatcher

One week after I didn't like the way one demonic doll was priced for our FML consideration, another one is tickling my fancy this week.

Todd from here bringing you my take on the weekend ahead as "Annabelle Comes Home" and Danny Boyle's musical comedy "Yesterday" debut. I've actually revised my Friday to Sunday estimate for "Annabelle" from low 30s to higher 20s, but that still means it anchors my lineup.

As for the current and remaining champ this weekend, I look for "Toy Story 4" to lose about half its volume with the likelihood that it holds much sturdier over the holiday weekend that follows. When it comes to "Yesterday", mixed reviews has me skeptical and I have it in fourth place behind "Aladdin".

A wild card is "Avengers: Endgame", which is set to increase its theater count with additional footage. I'll pay close attention to the number of screens on Thursday, but right now I have it priced out of contention.

Here's how I have the selected features performing:

"Toy Story 4" - $60.3 million
"Annabelle Comes Home" - $27.4 million
"Aladdin" - $9.7 million
"Yesterday" - $9.1 million
"The Secret Life of Pets 2" - $5.7 million
"Child's Play" - $5.4 million
"Men in Black: International" - $5 million
"Avengers: Endgame" - $4.5 million
"Rocketman" - $3.5 million
"John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" - $2.8 million
"Godzilla: King of the Monsters" - $1.7 million
"Shaft" - $1.4 million
"Anna" - $1.4 million
"Dark Phoenix" - $1.3 million
"Late Night" - $1.2 million

And that leaves me with "Annabelle" 2x along with "Aladdin", "Pets", "Rocketman" 3x, and "Parabellum". What say you?
