Hello fellow FMLers!
Welcome to the Weekly FML Spotlight! My name is Jeffery but you may know me better as Katniss Cinnaplex. Each week I'll be highlighting the top players in all of the public leagues (FML League, Monthly Matchup and Season Showdown) and tracking the race to the top of the leaderboards.
"Toy Story 4" was all the talk this week as it earned the first split pricing of the Summer season. Although none of the days earned enough to win the best performer (BP) bonus, Friday made just enough to be included in the perfect cineplex (PC). "John Wick 3" finally earned its day in the sun; after being the second-best value in back-to-back weeks it emerged as this week's BP beating out "Godzilla" for the $2 million bonus. The PC consisted of "Toy Story 4" Friday, "Child's Play," "Aladdin" and five screens of "John Wick 3."
The perfect season is still intact for fifteen players! These cineplexes have started out with three consecutive PCs and are in prime position to win the coveted Season Showdown league. BB currently sits atop the leaderboard with $297,329,071 in total box office, it all comes down to tiebreakers, as you can see here. Of coruse, there are still ten weeks left to play so it's still anyone's game at this point.
This week we saw the end the last few PC streaks that extended back to last season. The players in the chart above are now holding the PC streak record with three!
The Monthly Matchup is in a very similar situation as the Season Showdown; thirteen players sit at the top with perfect records with only ONE week to go. BB also leads this contest but only has a $1.4 million tiebreaker lead over Bing Again! If more than one of these players find the PC next week then all eyes will be on the tiebreakers!
The FML League
The FML League is the one-stop, go-to league for all players in Fantasy Movie League. There is a new contest every week so, naturally, it is nearly impossible to win without an excellent tiebreaker score. This week it came down to projecting the Friday gross for "Toy Story 4." The pros were all over the place trying to predict how much money "Toy Story 4" would earn, some estimates even reaching $200 million for opening weekend! Out of the 68 players that played the PC, only three had tiebreakers within $1 million of the actual Friday gross. Congrats to BB for winning a Toy Story photo signed by Tom Hanks and Tim Allen and an FML "Winner" t-shirt! Here were the top five lineups along with one random player who hit the PC.

Exxdee's Plex: They're Alive, Damnit
Sweep the Leg (9th)
This weekend players will be competing for a Deliver Us From Evil book signed by Ed and Lorraine Warren along with an FML "Winner" t-shirt. Good luck, and don't forget to set those tiebreakers!
