Would you like to build a lineup?
Each Thursday I'll give a little breakdown on how to build your lineup with the information readily available to everyone, especially if you don't know where to start.
this can always change pending preview numbers and are by no means a guarantee to win
I hadn't planned on 'Unplanned' coming in so strong last week. With so much uncertainty, I hedged instead and still moved up in the ranks, even though I didn't play 'Unplanned.'
Some may wonder why I chose the threads that I do to highlight, and the order they appear. When I first started this game, these are the threads I would lurk and the order I would look at them. :) (the exception is the Cineplex Builder, at the time it was something and somewhere a little different. :P)
Starting at $87.5k. Seems like an easy bar to beat but, as always, a great place to start.
Protagonist is subbing in for Guyett this week. He's put his Bonus Bar at 95k, which is roughly where I have mine as well. He's also put his movies in tiers, which can tell you which movies he's favoring right now.
BSWhite really has it in for 'Dumbo,' making this the BSA for a second week. I'm inclined to agree, with a soft(er) opening and luke warm critiques, it's hard to find a reason to play Dumbo this week.
Phil has pointed out that 'Unplanned' has a very planned expansion this week and you may want to check your numbers to be sure you've accounted for this. He's also stated that there are a handful of movies that should be avoided, they are 'Five Feet Apart,' 'Wonder Park, 'How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World,' 'Tyler Perry's A Madea Family Funeral,''The Beach Bum' and 'Gloria Bell.' Whew. That's a lot of movies you can cross off your list!
Waco Kid has provided some really good comps for you to look at when trying to compare like for like movies, seeing how they fair in their opening week or what they could potentially drop in their second week. This really helps taking the guess work out of it when you're stuck.
Yeah.....\'Avengers: Endgame' broke the internet and Thanos had his way with half the data. Use caution when using this data this week. :)
BOP is looking at 'Wonder Park' for Best Performer, even though Phil says otherwise. It follows up with 'The Best of Enemies' and 'Pet Sematary.'
BOR is rolling with an 'Unplanned' Best Performer. The theatre expansion should help, but will it help enough? He's got 'Wonder Park' second and 'How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World' coming in third.
Mojo is also thinking that 'Unplanned' is going to repeat this weekend in value. In second they have 'Pet Sematary' and third, US.
As suspected from Phil's Fandango Check, 'Unplanned' got a nice theatre increase and 'Wonder Park,' 'How To Train Your Dragon: Hidden World' and 'Tyler Perry's A Madea Family Funeral' lost a lot of theatres and will be hard to want to play.
This is another week that you have to question what you will chose to anchor with. There are 2 obvious options in our new releases and 1 not so obvious option in our holdovers. I'm currently going with one of the new releases, but I haven't quite settled on my Best Performer option.
