Would you like to build a lineup?

Lindsay Chrapko

Each Thursday I'll give a little breakdown on how to build your lineup with the information readily available to everyone, especially if you don't know where to start.

this can always change pending preview numbers and are by no means a guarantee to win

If you read the FML Main Chatter, you would have realized very early on last week, that 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse' was your BP. With its Oscar win and HUGE theater bump, it was pretty much a done deal. The real debate was what you anchored with. I chose....poorly.

We have our first split of the year this week with 'Captain Marvel' being divvied up over the weekend. This makes things a little more difficult because now you have to figure out how to split your estimates for each day. FML has it split 39.05% for Friday, 34.53% for Saturday and 26.42% for Sunday. Now depending on what you feel each day will do, your splits may vary, but it's a great starting point.

Cineplex Builder

The Builder has the Bonus Bar starting us off at $122k value. Definitely room to grow there. I'm thinking by the end of it all it will be closer to $130k.

Bonus Bar

Guyett has included a wonderful spreadsheet in this week's Bonus Bar thread to help you wrap your head around splits and how those movies fair in FML. He's set his bar at $125k which will be what most players are hovering around.

BSWhite is going with 'How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World' for his BSA. Basically, he's stating that if you don't anchor with some kind of 2x Captain Marvel play this week, you're toast. :)

Weekly Comps

This thread has been around for a while. Waco Kid and Nux team up to help find good movies to compare the new releases and holdovers with as well as some methodology math that I can't claim to know anything about. Lol.

Fandango Check

Phil's Fandango Check has 'Isn't It Romantic,' 'Happy Death Day 2U' And 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse' losing too many theaters to warrant playing this week. Personally, I have 2 out of the 3 being my bottom to Worst Performers for the week.

Boxoffice Pro

Looks like a congratulations is in order for Pro Boxoffice, which is now Boxoffice Pro or BOP. New site, new design and 10 estimates!! That'll be fun referencing :) I'll be using the FML splits for their' Captain Marvel' estimate. BOP has 'Fighting With My Family' coming in as their Top BP option with 'Captain Marvel' coming in 2-4 in the order of, Saturday, Friday, Sunday. All movies have over $130k value.

Boxoffice Report

BOR has decided to go with 9 estimates this week and is a little stingy on 'Captain Marvel.' 'Captain Marvel' doesn't even make his top 5 BP contenders, instead he has 'Green Book' winning the week, followed by 'Alita: Battle Angel' and 'Greta.'

Boxoffice Mojo

Mojo coming in with an upper cut; 'Fighting With My Family' is a knock out win according to them. Green Book is second and 'Alita: Battle Angel' in third, all with very high values.

Theater Counts

And just like that, what is giveth, is taketh away. 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse' got an incredible expansion last week, and it was all taken away this week which is why it's in my bottom pack of movies this week. Other movies to note that had some nasty theater cuts are 'Happy Death Day 2U,' 'What Men Want' and 'The Upside.'

This coincides with Phil's Fandango Check.

There are a lot of potential Best Performers to pick from this week. Your top choices would most likely be any of the 'Captain Marvel,' 'Alita: Battle Angel,' 'Fighting With My Family' And 'Green Book.' Now you just have to choose the correct Captain Marvel day(s) and the movies that follow. :D
