Box Office Estimates for May 25 - 28

Todd Thatcher

It's Memorial Day weekend at the box office and there's one solo new release for our daily pricing consideration. That would, of course, be "Solo: A Star Wars Story" and it's been the subject of plenty of chatter already among the FML faithful.

Todd from www.toddmthatcher.com here bringing you my take on the holiday weekend ahead. I have "Solo" generating a total of $151.3 million this weekend, but it's the daily pricing over the four days that truly matters. That is unless you have it lower than my projection and are looking to superheroes Deadpool or The Avengers to anchor your lineup. The "Deadpool 2" sophomore drop should be a point of conversation this week. I have it toward the lower end of expectations in the mid 50s.

Can't wait to see the variety of lineups ahead of us and here's how I have the selected features performing:

"Deadpool 2" - $55.2 million

"Solo: A Star Wars Story" (Friday) - $50.2 million

"Solo: A Star Wars Story" (Saturday) - $39.7 million

"Solo: A Star Wars Story" (Sunday) - $35 million

"Solo: A Star Wars Story" (Monday) - $26.4 million

"Avengers: Infinity War" - $22.5 million

"Book Club" - $11.7 million

"Life of the Party" - $5.3 million

"Show Dogs" - $4.4 million

"Breaking In" - $4.1 million

"A Quiet Place" - $3.2 million

"Overboard" - $2.7 million

"RBG" - $1.2 million

"Rampage" - $1.1 million

"I Feel Pretty" - $853,000

That leaves me flying with a 2x Sunday "Solo" showing along with a Monday screening and a 5x "Rampage" play. What say you?
