So what are we looking at for Storks and M7.
Seems to be a select few that crunch the numbers so much better than anything I could dream of doing?
I don't know, can't we wait until tomorrow night?Sep 21, 2016, 9:39am PDT
No! I want to know now! Well, OK. I'll wait.Sep 21, 2016, 9:43am PDT
I'm sure Storks is gonna be low around 500K( if that). But M7 need to be 3M+ range.Sep 21, 2016, 9:46am PDT
For M7, consider the following:
- Mad Max 4: $3.7M Th - $45.4M OW
- Prometheus: $3.6M Th - $51.1M OW
- Rise of the Planet of the Apes: $1.4M - $54.8M OW
M7 is a remake and those are all parts of franchises but there isn't a direct Th comp I could find. If M7 goes over $4M on Th it'll get over $50M for the weekend but between $2M and $4M and its murky.
- Ice Age 5: $850k Th - $31.3M OW
- Angry Birds: $800k Th - $38.2M OW
- BFG: $780k Th - $22.7M OW
Again, murkiness.Sep 21, 2016, 10:01am PDT
The comps you use for M7 are all summer movies. September is one of the slowest if not slowest month of the year.Sep 21, 2016, 10:03am PDT
Sorry Nerd, I don't like any of those comps. Summer is so different from Fall for ThursdaysSep 21, 2016, 10:11am PDT
So when M7 comes in at 1.2M what does that mean to everyone......Sep 21, 2016, 10:25am PDT
The hard part about the Th data is that there isn't that much of it. Its nearly impossible to find a comp that matches genre, season, and projected revenue every week. In my case, I relaxed on season which is admittedly not ideal but better than a WAG.Sep 21, 2016, 10:27am PDT
I've found it's better to be stricter on season (though Fall and part of Winter and early Spring can be similar) and relax genre a bit, and even relax on size and just look at the multipleSep 21, 2016, 10:28am PDT
What were the numbers on The Equalizer?Sep 21, 2016, 10:29am PDT
