Now is the time to join the $1000 Island League for the Awards 2020 Season.

The rules for the league are straightforward...

  • Every submitted lineup must use the entire $1000 FML Bux weekly spending limit to be valid.
  • Any lineups submitted for less than $1000 will be zeroed out. Repeat violators (more than once) will be eliminated for the remainder of the season. They can rejoin when the next season begins. If you're a previous player in the league and were eliminated, you will need to rejoin.
  • The perfect cineplex, aka the P$1KC, is based on the highest earning lineup that uses the full $1000 spend. Note: The P$1KC will, at times, be different than the standard FML perfect cineplex that is highlighted within the app and on the website. A recap of the P$1KC as well as the weekend's top earning cineplexes plus a spreadsheet with total weekly standings and cineplex totals will be posted after actuals are reported.
  • Those who score the P$1KC each week will have $5 million added to their weekly earnings.
  • There are NO Worst Performer or Blank Screen Penalties in this league.
  • The league locks Fridays at 9AM PT.

The player with the highest total box office earnings at the end of the season will win a 3-month subscription to the film streaming service, CRITERION CHANNEL.

Last bump. If you spend all your FML bucks each week, this is the perfect league for you.

Is there always a way to spend all $1000? Stupid question but it seems as if the math wouldn't allow it all the time.

Historically, Yes. Unless pricing switches things up.

    If I'm having trouble finding $1000 lineups, I use Ken's calculator: http://www.kenbmiller.com/moxie/index.php

It spits out 500 lineups at a time. You can manipulate it to give $1000 lineups by setting the Box Office for each movie equal to its FML price. (ex. The Lion King is priced at $44, set its Box Office to $4,400,000.) Then you can adjust one movie up by a dollar to focus on BP. So, if you felt Overcomer was going to get BP this week, you'd set its Box Office to $3,500,001 (FML price $35) and the calculator spits out four line-ups with a 4x Overcomer play, three line-ups with a 3x play, and a ton for a 2x play. (Ctrl+F helps on "$1000" helps to find them.) It takes a bit of work to look through all your options, but be reassured that it finds plenty of line-ups. Turns out, every week there are dozens of options. (This week specifically has 155 different $1000 lilneups.)

I meant to try programming a calculator to find $1000 lline-ups at some point, but never got around to it. 😑
